Every year, youngsters around the country are required to find a placement for a week and work within the environs of its specific vocation. A fantastic opportunity for young individuals to gain first hand experience in a true work setting, giving them invaluable lessons on how to navigate, apply for and sustain a job in todays busy world.
This week, we at the gallery, have had the pleasure of working with a very nice young man from Jedburgh Grammar school. Robert was placed here on work experience and took to it perfectly. It has been fantastic to see how engaged in art the younger generations are, and to help fuel that passion by giving them a hands on experience within the gallery and its working day.
Handling everything superbly, Robert has been naught but an asset this week and we have enjoyed every moment with him. Tony has even invited him to share his studio space whenever he chooses so that he can offer him lessons and guidance as he too starts out on his art journey. We look forward to seeing you again very soon!
