Georgina McMaster

Georgina McMaster was born in 1980 and studied at Edinburgh College of Art where she graduated in 2002 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Visual Communication, Specialising in Drawing and Painting. In 2004 she gained a teacher training qualification from Bath Spa University.

In 2007, she received the First Time Exhibitor prize from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and in 2008, the David Cargill Award from the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. In the same year she was elected Artist Member of The Glasgow Art Club.

Describing her work to date Georgina said it has been mainly based on animals. In 2011 she said, “I visited Madhya Pradesh, India and produced a body of work of the animals I studied at the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve for my solo exhibition at The Strathearn Gallery in 2011.

“I have continued to paint both the Scottish and the Indian wildlife. I have also been focussing on animals from Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park in Kincraig, near Kingussie.” Her much sought after work features in private collections around the world.”
