Kerr Rodgie was born in Glasgow in 1992 and raised in the Scottish Borders, he now lives and works in London. Rodgie who comes from a long line of painters graduated with a First Class BA Hons in Fine Art Sculpture at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen also achieving the 2014, RGU Purchase Prize for the Arts and Heritage Collections.
Inspired by his natural physical environment he uses oil painting and sculpture as his mediums to capture this. Rodgie takes influence from long cycle trips with his father around Skye and the Western Isles trying to capture their ever-changing moods. He tries to achieve a sense of atmosphere with low lighting and rain like tendencies contrasted with the opposite of sunlit days reflecting the strong colour of the rugged landscape.
